How do I register for Bowl for Kids' Sake online?
Click the ‘Form a Team’ button on the home page if you are going to be a Team Captain and find 5 team members to join your team.  Click the 'Join a Team' button on the home page if you are joining a team that has already been created.  A BBBSKC staff member can also sign you up over the phone, just call 816.777.2880 for assistance or email

I have registered and received a confirmation email but what’s my username and/or password? Contact Hannah for help logging into your page.

Do I need to personalize my webpage page?
People who personalize their fundraising webpage to talk about why they support BBBSKC typically raise more money than those who don’t personalize their webpage. It only takes a few minutes to add a personal picture and/or a few words about your relationship with BBBKC or who has been your personal mentor.

Can you help me set up my personal webpage? We’re happy to help! Click here to take a look at our website tutorial questions or feel free to reach out to us at to schedule a one-on-one consultation.

How do I schedule my team’s bowling party session?
We ask that all team captains find out what date and time works best for their team and then schedule their bowling party session here. If you have any questions or issues contact Hannah at 816.777.2621.

I have a donor that is writing me a check, who should the check be made out to?
All checks can be made out to BBBSKC.

Who has been calling me about Bowl for Kids’ Sake?
Our staff starts reaching out to all of our Bigs, supporters and past Bowl for Kids’ Sake Team Captains to get them signed up for Bowl for Kid’s Sake starting in March. Once a Team Captain has registered they will be assigned to a BBBS Staff Team Mentor who will be in touch throughout the summer with helpful tips and reminders. Let your Team Mentor know if you need any assistance along the way, they are a great resource.

I can’t form a team of six, how else can I help?
You can still support BBBSKC and participate in Bowl for Kids’ Sake even if you don't have a full team. Simply click 'Form a Team or Join a Team' and then on the next page click the link in the bottom right that says join as an individual and you can help raise much-needed funds to benefit BBBSKC and help us reach our $850,000 Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraising goal. You'll also qualify for the same individual prizes as all other bowlers.

I am a Team Captain. What do I need to do?

1. Form a six person team. Ask friends, family or coworkers to join your team.
2.  Schedule your team’s bowling party. There are 18 parties to choose from during July 10-26.
3.  Customize and share your personal fundraising webpage. It’s easy, just log on, upload a photo and share your story. Help your teammates do the same thing.
4.  Fundraise for BBBS and hit your fundraising goal. By simply sending an email or text, posting a Facebook message or asking a few friends for support you can make a big difference. The more you raise, the more prizes you and your team become eligible for.

Participant Fundraising Goal: $200
Team Fundraising Goal: $1,200
Super Team Goal: $2,400

5.  Have a great time! Show up to your scheduled bowling party and enjoy free cosmic bowling, pizza, beer, soda and prizes.

I need some quick ideas on how to fundraise. Any suggestions?
Check out these tips that are sure to help you exceed your fundraising goal. If you need help with fundraising ideas contact Erica at 816.777.2880 and we’ll help you brainstorm. Here are a couple of our favorite tips:

  • Use Social Media: post often on Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. Ask for donations, let your friends know how far you are from hitting your goal and thank your donors publicly. Use the Bowl for Kids’ Sake App to track your progress and text or email donation requests and thank you messages.
  • Ask about company matches: many companies will match an employee’s contribution to a charity. Ask your HR Director or supervisor if your company will make a donation to your team or match your personal contribution.
  • Plan a small fundraiser: many teams host fundraisers and invite their friends, family or coworkers. Examples include: happy hours, trivia nights, garage or bake sales, office jeans day and even selling ice cream sundae’s or breakfast burritos at work.

Can I create a Facebook fundraiser? Yes, go to our Facebook page, click Fundraisers, start a Fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City (link to our page).  Be prepared to show your Fundraiser’s total at Bowl for Kids’ Sake registration.  If you would like your Facebook Donations to show up on your Summer Bowl webpage, enter it as an Offline Donation (Pledge or Cash).  You can update this amount as often as you’d like.

How can my team qualify as a Super Team?  Double the fundraising goal and double the party- Super Teams raise $2,400 and they are invited to the infamous Super Team Party in August with free food, drink and entertainment and they are entered to win a FREE team trip to Las Vegas with hotel.

What if my team doesn’t reach the fundraising goal?
The team goal is $1,200 which is $200 per person on a 6 person team. The easiest way to raise $200 is to find 8 people to donate $25. If you are having trouble reaching your fundraising goal contact Erica at 816.777.2880 for fundraising tips and assistance.

How can I see who has donated to me and who has joined my team?
Sign in to your personal fundraising webpage at and click the ‘Participant Center’ tab to view donors and teammates.

Can friends and family make a donation to me by going to the main website?
Yes, on the home page of the website, friends and family can locate you by clicking on the ‘Donate’ button. By typing in your name, they will be directed to your personalized webpage.

Why is the ‘Donate’ search not finding a Bowler that I know has registered?
You must type in the first name or last name of the bowler exactly how they entered it when they registered. Try using just the first few letters of someone's name if you're not sure how it's spelled. If you have a problem locating a bowler that you are sure has registered, please contact us at 816.777.2880.

Can my sponsors give cash, checks or pledges?
Sure! You can enter offline donations like these onto your personal fundraising webpage by logging in, clicking ‘Participant Center’ and then choose ‘Enter Offline Donations’. Enter cash, check and pledge donations here by following the simple steps. We will bill for pledge donations after your team’s bowling party session. You can mail or deliver cash or check donations to 1709 Walnut, Kansas City, MO 64108 or bring them to your scheduled bowling party session.

Can my sponsors really pledge now and pay later?
Yes, if someone tells you they would love to give but they don’t have cash/check when you ask let them know that they can make a pledge to support your team. Write down their information on a provided pledge sheet or log into your personal fundraising webpage and click ‘Enter Offline Donations’ under the ‘Partcipant Center’. Enter your sponsor’s information including mailing address and the select ‘Pledge’ in the selection box. We will bill your sponsor after your bowling party and they can make a payment by mailing in a check or by donating online.

Is there a fundraising deadline?
The short answer is, No. However, to receive individual fundraising prizes at your bowling session, you must complete your fundraising by the date of your bowling party session. Our website will be up all year long, so you are more than welcome to continue fundraising after your bowling party session is over.

What is the fundraising deadline for Super Teams?
To qualify for VIP treatment at your bowling lane, your team must hit the $2,400 team fundraising goal by the date of your bowling party session – this will qualify your team for the August 10th Super Team Party.  If your team is unable to hit the $2,400 team goal by your bowling party session, you have up until August 9th to qualify for the Super Team Party.

Where does the money raised from Bowl for Kids' Sake go?
